Our Factory
The Coupland's manufacturing site in Christchurch is a comprehensive manufacturing site with a mixture of fully automated lines and craft areas designed to provide the vast range of goods required by the retail market. We always try to use 100% NZ products and only the finest, tastiest, ingredients in our recipes.
Pies
Pies are a core part of our business and we have 2 automated lines capable of producing thousands of pies per hour from single serve through to jumbo family size. Our savouries still have a large handmade component and are baked fresh daily in our specially built ovens.
Cookies / Biscuits
Coupland's Bakeries bakery has the largest cookie/ biscuit production line in the South Island. This line is fully automated and has been specifically built using our own in-house technology and expert baking knowledge. This state of the art cookie/biscuit line can produce thousands of cookies per hour. Whilst we can, and do, produce a large number of cookies per hour we do not compromise taste and quality.
Cakes / Slices
Our cakes and slices are made on semi-automated lines then hand finished to give them the appeal of home-made. Our cakes & slices are available in individual portions through to fabulous gateaux with over 50 products in this category.
Bread / Rolls
Through the use of our innovative engineering team, Coupland's Bakeries has built a state of the art bread plant which produces several thousand loaves of fresh bread per hour. This plant is highly efficient and operates seven days a week, 363 days a year. Coupland's Bakeries bread plant is fully automated to ensure consistency and freshness. At any one time, from start to finish, there can be up to 10,000 loaves going through the kneading, proofing, baking, slicing and wrapping processes in this plant.
Buns & Rolls are produced on a semi-automated line that ensures we can produce a wide variety of products with consistent quality standards.
Rolls / sandwiches
All our filled rolls and sandwiches are handmade to very precise quality standards. The specially built, temperature controlled, preparation room ensures Coupland's can deliver the freshest, tastiest and food safe products possible seven days a week.
